Auckland, including the Mahurangi area, is currently at Alert Level 1

Auckland Unlimited has released a Business Toolkit guided by the topics businesses said they need – check out the tools in the kit here, including a step-by-step guide to continuity planning.

With the potential to fall in and out of Alert Levels, do you have a plan to help your business pivot to the requriements? The Auckland Business Chamber has developed a template to help businesses do just that – you can download it here. If you need help completing it, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

All businesses can operate, provided they can meet the rules to operate safely under this Alert Level, just like meeting normal Health and Safety at Work requirements. For guidance about workplace activities, including workplace access click here.

For tourism businesses

Tourism New Zealand is launching a new campaign aimed at families hopefully on 1 March. This campaign highlights the many domestic activities and holidays families can undertake in New Zealand. Operators can participate by loading their family-friendly products and family-specific deals on newzealand.com For a guide on how to do this, please click here.
If you are not already on newzealand.com you can find instructions about how to do so here.

Auckland Unlimited also has a toolkit to help operators use their social media channels as an effective communications tool.  To access the toolkit, please click here.

Auckland tourism businesses are eligible to access fully-funded expert business advice through the Tourism Transitions Fund. The Fund provides tourism business support to the value of up to $5000, which can be used across specific support areas based on your current business needs. Please click the link for further details.

In addition to the Tourism Transitions Fund, support is available for eligible businesses in cases of Covid-19 resurgence, to provide certainty to businesses and workers. More information is available here.

This is a timely reminder to stay vigilant using your Covid Tracer App and with hygiene habits. There are specific courses of action to take if you visited any of the locations of interest in south Auckland or New Plymouth at specific times on specific dates. Check your Covid Tracer App diary to see if any of these times and dates apply to you, then follow the Ministry of Health’s recommended actions which can be found here.

Business Advisory Fund

Funding via ATEED and the Regional Business Partner Network is now fully committed, however they do have funding support set aside for eligible businesses who:

  1. have already registered with the RBP for support, and
  2. have completed the ATEED pre-meeting survey, and
  3. are waiting to meet our business advisor.

Unfortunately, new registrations and applications from 3 October 2020 are unlikely to receive COVID-19 Business Advisory Funding from the current pool, but may be eligible for other RBP support. ATEED’s business advisors can help you identify what is available and appropriate for your business:
