It’s That Time Again: Election Season is Upon Us!

I’m sure you’ve all noticed that familiar time rolling around once every three years – yes, it’s election season! During this period, something peculiar happens. Many individuals and businesses tend to hit the pause button on their purchasing decisions, fearing that new policies might have an adverse effect on them.

Having observed this trend throughout my years in various sales roles, I can attest that convincing people to make buying decisions becomes quite a challenge. The common refrain you hear is, “I might just wait and see what happens after the election!” But the reality is that, for most of us, not much changes in the short term. So, why delay?

As a business, what can you do to encourage prospective customers to make positive purchasing decisions? Should you offer more payment options, host pre-election sales events, or provide special after-sales service offers? In today’s competitive market, I believe you should explore every available option. Our aim in today’s trading environment is to maximize every opportunity that comes our way.

On September 13th, One Mahurangi will host a Candidates Debate at the Warkworth Town Hall, starting at 6 pm (doors open at 5:30 pm). Representatives from Labour, Act, National, Democracy NZ, NZ First, and the Greens will be there to present their policies, and there will be ample time for questions from the audience. I look forward to seeing you there.

Regardless of the election’s outcome in October, remember that you can’t go wrong by supporting your local community – Buy Local, employ local, and love local!
