26th Sep 2024 Update | Important Message for Warkworth Businesses from Employment NZ and more…

Holidays seem to be on everyone’s mind lately. It feels like half the town is heading overseas, while I’m still here! Even though I had a decent break last Christmas, I can’t help but feel a little tempted to take a month or two off myself. With so many locals traveling, it won’t be long before we start hearing a range of accents around Warkworth and at the Information Centre, as overseas tourists begin to return. I always enjoy hearing their stories and seeing their appreciation for our beautiful town—it reminds me how lucky we are to live here, something we can sometimes take for granted.

The Warkworth Information Centre plays an important part in welcoming these visitors. It’s not only a place for tourists to find out what to do—it’s also where newcomers can get help finding a doctor, mechanic, or any service around town. If you’re traveling yourself, it’s also a great spot to pick up small, easy-to-pack souvenirs.

For local businesses, the Centre offers affordable advertising opportunities right out front, a great way to promote yourself to both visitors and locals. The Warkworth Information Centre is an asset that doesn’t get used enough, and our knowledgeable staff and volunteers are always ready to assist.

Last night was our AGM, and I’ll give a brief update on that in the next newsletter. Until then, enjoy the warmer weather, and if you hear a different accent in town, take a moment to say hello. A simple gesture can make Warkworth stand out in visitors’ minds.
