24th Nov 2022 Update | Santa is Coming to Town! Get amongst it

When will summer arrive?

What wonderful weather if you rely on water tanks but not so great if you are just keen to get out and about.

I do notice how quiet it can get on the streets in the centre of town when it is raining heavily and it must be frustrating for businesses when they have staff but not a lot of customers. I believe there is a positive spin to this weather apart from filling water tanks. That is, it becomes quite a good time to pop into Warkworth if you want to do a bit of pre-Christmas shopping because there are carparks to be found and you know that you can spend some quality time with the business owners or staff as you are browsing or looking to buy.

One Mahurangi is starting to countdown to the Santa Parade on the 4th December! Starting at 11am and finishing with prize giving down on the wharf, if children would like photos with Santa and Mrs Claus then that is the time to get them.

If you are a business that would like to put in a float then please contact me or go on our website for an entry form > www.onemahurangi.co.nz/santa-parade-2022/ There is no cost to enter and it is a lot of fun for you and the children of your staff.

We also welcome schools and kindergartens and you don’t have to have a float. You can participate in the Warkworth Santa Parade by just walking in the parade with signs that say where you are from. Again, check our website for more information or contact me, murray@onemahurangi.co.nz  Be seen and be remembered by the local community this Christmas.

Keep an eye and ear out for Santa around the neighbourhood streets of Warkworth on the 5th December and Snells Beach on the 7th December from 5.30pm. You will hear the Town Cryer ringing his bell to let you know the Big Man is coming behind both the Police and the Fire Brigade. There will be opportunity to donate to the Warkworth Fire Brigade while they are doing the rounds and rumour has it Santa will be handing out lollies!

Remember to continue supporting local this Christmas so we can keep money in our area and the local economy thriving.  We are a great community because we look out for each other and are Stronger Together.
