Christmas Cheer and Community Spirit in Warkworth
It’s that time of year again—my head is buzzing with all things Santa Parade! This year, the excitement is dialed up a notch as we bring you a festive triple treat on 7th December: the Santa Parade, Family Fun Day, and Carols in the Park all rolled into one unforgettable day!
The Santa Parade kicks off at 2pm, giving everyone plenty of time to shop, eat, and soak up the holiday vibe. After the parade, there’s a prizegiving ceremony at the bottom of Baxter Street, where one lucky family will win a big Doll’s House courtesy of Keith Hay Homes—you must be present to win! Live music will carry us through the afternoon until Carols in the Park begins at 7:30pm in Lucy Moore Park.
In between, the Family Fun Day at the reserve in front of Hunting & Fishing will be a hive of activity, featuring food trucks, a coffee cart, Mr Whippy, face painters, and free games like the Egg & Spoon race, Tug of War, and even a Carry Your Spouse relay. It’s a perfect chance to spread out a picnic blanket and enjoy a day of fun for all ages.
This year, let’s also use the day to encourage Christmas shopping in Warkworth. With so many people in town, it’s a great opportunity for our shops to shine. Imagine tables outside every store with festive specials and budget-friendly finds for those feeling the pinch this season. If every business promotes this through their networks, the buzz could be enormous. Together, we can make 7 December a memorable day for shopping and community spirit.
